Did you know…

It might be hard to believe, but back in the 18th century, the then influencers of the day were enamoured by Dawlish. Once a sleepy port that few would come and visit, it wasn't until historian, artist and topographer John Swete reported how wonderful his visit to Dawlish in 1795 was that "in the height of the season, not a house of the least consequence is to be hired for less than two guineas a week, and many of them rise to so high a sum as four or five." Thus, Dawlish was born into a Victorian celebrity hot spot for out-of-towners.

Some things never change!

About Dawlish

With a population of approximately 14,000, the English seaside town of Dawlish is a slice of paradise. Situated just twelve miles from Exeter and Torquay, the town grows yearly. In the 18th century, the town was a mere fishing port, but nowadays, with more and more housing becoming available in the area and holidaymakers flocking to the town every summer, the seaside town has become a holiday resort.

The town is well connected with regular bus links to neighbouring Devon towns and cities and with its own railway station to take you further south or to London, Birmingham and beyond, Dawlish is thriving.

The Community

For nature lovers, a walk along Dawlish Warren beach is a stunning escape; the nature reserve offers long walks and scenic views, as does the famous Dawlish town trail, which takes you along the river where you are likely to see plenty of ducks, geese and black swans.

With museums, theme parks and activities for adults and children, there is plenty to do all year round. Dawlish is bursting with local produce, independent cafes, pubs, restaurants, bars and shops. It is a place worth visiting for tourists and a lovely place to live for its residents.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY ABOUT US . . .

quote

We used RE/MAX for the sale of our property. RE/MAX was very helpful from start to finish, always there at the end of the phone when needed. Always chasing for updates. They have been truly amazing! Their costs are also very good value for money when you consider the service they provide. I would highly recommend!
