Jane Austen, undoubtedly one of our greatest British writers, was schooled for a short time in Reading Ladies Boarding School, Reading. Between the spring of 1785 and December 1786. Mr Austen paid £37 and 19 Shillings per half year for Jane and her two cousins to attend. It is hard to know how much Jane was influenced by this short period; however, as a twelve-year-old, Jane was writing seriously.

About Reading

Reading is a town in Berkshire, England. It lies to the east of London and is the regional seat of local government.
