The town sometimes referred to as Weston, is a tourist destination and a popular spot for holidaymakers, particularly during the summer. Transport links in the area are excellent, with the mainline rail station situated just ten minutes from the beach - the trains run in and out of London, Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham and Taunton. Driving or buses are both simple in the area. The long sandy beach, lido, museums, pier and hotels make this place an excellent holiday choice or place to put down roots.
The area's population is approximately 77,000 residents, and as a result is a thriving ecosystem. There is much to do and see in Weston-Super-Mare, from the Weston and Helicopter museums to the Grand Pier and The Playhouse, where the community come together to enjoy performances such as the opera, ballet, comedy shows, pantomimes and musical acts. The Winter Gardens and Blakehay Theatre are also popular venues in the region. There are a plethora of local eateries in the area with fresh fish sold daily and a variety of international cuisines also available. The area boasts traditional pubs and a relaxed seaside atmosphere to enjoy.
